Get to know who we are

Emmanuel Faith Fellowship is a dynamic and vibrant God-centered church that seeks to connect people to Jesus Christ and to each other, embrace their membership within God's family, develop them for their purpose in the world, in order to glorify God's name.

Our History

In February 1993, Faith Fellowship, Emmanuel Apostolic Church – Portmore began with weekly Wednesday night prayer meetings at the Passage Fort Community Centre. These weekly meetings continued for almost a year. The thirty-six (36) member strong group was headed by the then Elder Everton Thomas, who has since been consecrated to the office of 'Bishop'.

The group sought direction from God concerning the ministry by fasting every third Saturday, at the former Forum Hotel. Shortly thereafter, we had our first Sunday service in the Passage Fort Community Centre.

God began to bless the ministry, which by then had quickly expanded and had outgrown the facilities at the Community Centre. In 1994, the church made its first application to the government for a parcel of land on which to construct a permanent sanctuary.

Owing to the delay in our request being granted, other facilities were sought, and in 1996 the Portmore H.E.A.R.T. Academy graciously allowed us to use its auditorium for services. The membership continued to grow, and by 1998, there were over 300 members. Unfortunately, that year we had to leave that facility.

Our Vision

We are the city's premier worship centre with a two-fold vision of Evangelism and Restoration.

Our Mission

To Preach the Gospel to every creature; Pastor Believers well, Prepare disciples and Plant leaders everywhere.

Between 1994 and 1999 several other petitions were made by our Pastor for a parcel of land on which to construct our sanctuary. In 1998, the church was successful in leasing a parcel of land, along Braeton Parkway, on which a tent was erected. Our attempts to acquire this property proved futile as the land was zoned for other development.

During the two years, we worshipped under the tent on Braeton Parkway we witnessed great miracles and healings as the Lord continued to show us favour.

Thanks be to God for our pastor, Bishop C. Everton Thomas, through whose persistence, another application was made to the government, and we were allocated two acres in 1999. It was a very historic moment for us when we broke ground for the construction of our multipurpose complex. Under the pastoral direction of Bishop C. Everton Thomas, the church continues to grow in both memberships and in the extent of services it offers to the community of Portmore. With God’s help, our desire is to live up to our motto: "Touching People With Love."
